The origins
Our story begins in Alagna Valsesia, where our family settled generations ago. Growing up among woods, valleys and mountains, we came to know the rhythms of nature and the beauty of Alpine landscapes.
Our deep and proud Walser roots have shaped our identity: respect for the land, attention to natural materials and care for detail remain the guiding thread of our hospitality to this day.
The birth of the hotel
Montagna di Luce was born from the desire to share this experience with those who wish to discover the authentic mountains.
We restored old Walser houses, respecting their original wood and stone architecture, and turned them into welcoming rooms and common areas where tradition meets modern comfort.
The first step was simple: open the doors of our home and offer genuine hospitality, family warmth and honest advice for discovering the area.
Growth and tradition
Over the years, the hotel has evolved, introducing new services and expanding what it offers: a restaurant serving local cuisine, guided hikes and personalised experiences.
But what hasn’t changed is our attention to the land and our care for every guest, core elements of the Walser tradition and of our way of living the mountains.

Today, Montagna di Luce is more than a hotel: it’s a place where family, Walser culture and a passion for the mountains come together.
We work with alpine guides and leading figures such as Sergio Gabbio to offer safe and authentic experiences.
